Achieving our vision

The past 12 months have been another active year of legislative reform.

The commercial and industrial property tax took effect on 1 July 2024, before we introduced a new temporary off-the-plan land transfer (stamp) duty concession on 21 October 2024.

On 1 January 2025, we implemented the short stay levy and changes to vacant residential land tax.

Throughout the year, we also prepared to replace the fire services property levy with the emergency services and volunteers fund on 1 July 2025.

As a digital-first revenue agency, we have continued to modernise our technology and enhance our customers’ technology experience.

We have also maintained our focus on our strategic goal to maximise compliance, ensuring Victorians pay the right amount of tax at the right time.
